BILLBOARD MESSAGE:

..................Who really was Jesus Christ? Was He just another important figure in history who lived some 2,000 years ago?

..................He was born in a stable, to a very ordinary family, in very poor and meager circumstances. He never went to college, He never owned a house, nor wrote a book; and, He never traveled more than thirty miles from His place of birth. He was accused of high crimes and was executed by the cruelest of methods.

..................Why has this man had such a profound influence on the life and thoughts of the world over an extended period of time ?

..................Despite the fact that He came from lowly beginnings, He descended from David, the great King of Israel who was truly a man of God. King Herod feared Jesus, even as a baby. As a boy, Jesus spoke to the leaders of his time and they were astonished at his wisdom and understanding.

..................After He began his ministry, Jesus healed the sick, comforted the poor, gave rest to those who were heavily laden, forgave sinners, and taught us to love. He gave an invitation to all to be His disciples; to receive Him as their Lord and Savior.

..................The Bible, which is the holy word of the one true God, spoke of Jesus hundreds of years before His birth. The Bible recorded His birth, His ministry, His miracles, His death and His resurrection.

..................Jesus claimed to be the Son of God, being God manifested in the flesh. Yet, He was fully God and fully man. As a man, He experienced discouragement and pain, He became tired, He was tempted, and He even lost His temper. ------- Yet, He was without sin.

..................Jesus was foretold by the prophet Isaiah (Isaiah 54) as the Savior, and introduced by John the Baptist. (Matt. 3).

..................The Bible further records Jesus as: Wonderful, Counsellor, the Mighty God, the Everlasting Father, the Prince of Peace (Isaiah 9:6), the Great I am, King of Kings, Lord of Lords, Lamb of God, Messiah, Son of God, Holy One, Author and Finisher of our Faith, Resurrection and Life and the Alpha and Omega.

..................During Jesus time on earth, he asked His disciples " WHOM DO YOU SAY THAT I AM ? " (Matt. 16:15). Simon Peter answered: "Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God". This statement became known as the Great Confession; and, Jesus said (Matt 16:18) "upon this rock I will build my church".

..................Today, this question still remains for every man and woman ----- "Who do you say that Jesus is?" It is the most important question that all humanity will ever face.

..................Reason with God and His holy word (Isaiah 1:18). Use the measure of faith that God has given to everyone (Rom. 12:3).

..................Receive Christ as Lord and Savior (John 1:12) and by His grace, you will be saved through faith (Eph. 2:8).

..................Confess with your mouth, and believe in your heart that God has raised JESUS from the dead, and you will be saved (Romans 10:9-10). Then, you will have the assurance of salvation and know that you have crossed-over from death to eternal life (John 5:24); and, as an inheritance, you will be a joint-heir with JESUS CHRIST (Romans 8:17 and Galatians 4:7) and be the recipient of all the promises for the Children of GOD (II Peter 1: 3, ).

ACT NOW.

Today is the day of SALVATION !!

(II Corinthians 6:2)

BILLBOARD MESSAGE:

..................This is a parable given by JESUS CHRIST to the Jewish people. A parable is a brief, simple story, told to illustrate or teach a spiritual truth. Jesus used the example of a shepherd and his flock of sheep, primarily because the people with whom he was speaking to could identify with this analogy.

..................As JESUS told His parable, He identified the Shepherd with Himself, and the sheep to His followers. The shepherd is totally committed to His sheep; so much so, that He would risk his life for the protection of His sheep. (John 10:15a) .The sheep listen to the Shepherd; they know His voice and follow Him because they place their faith in Him. (John 10:4) The sheep will not listen to a stranger, as they have no faith in a strangers' direction. (John 10:5)

..................Furthermore, JESUS said He was the gate (the entranceway) for His sheep. (John 10:76) .His message to the Jews (and to all peoples) is that He (JESUS) is the entranceway to eternal life. That through Him (Jesus), salvation is obtained, and He gives eternal life; and, a life that is abundant and full. (John 10:10) .Jesus is that good Shepherd. He knows His sheep (His followers) and His sheep know him. (John 10:14) There is only one Shepherd (JESUS) and only one flock (His followers).

..................Some doubted JESUS, as He claimed to be the Christ (the Messiah); however, they could not doubt His miracles as they had witnessed with their own eyes. JESUS said, you don't believe because you're not my sheep, my sheep know me, they follow me, and no one can remove them from me (eternal security to all those who elect to continue to be His followers (his sheep).
Jesus said, my power, and authority has been given to me by my Father who is greater than all; and, "my Father and I are one". (John 10:29)
